Hello guys!
I decided to gave you some intern view of my non-flying life.
Currently I’m working in Ski school Soelden in Austria. It is a famous flying spot so every flying day some gliders cross above my head wile I’m teaching and make me crease as I have no time to do it. Any way on the take off wind blows constantly from the back and it would be fun to watch me taking there with my Boomerang off. People says on spring wind comes from front so wait for it.
Flying/working scenery looks like this:

In 2006 I came on the idea to run all women competition one day. In 2008 during some conversations with my friend Karolina we realized we have the seam dream. She spoke during her stay in Switzerland with Anja about this and she got fascinated about this idea as well. We have been thinking about the place and time but always in terms off one day it will happen.
During Words in Mexico (2009) I organized meeting with whole girls competing in this championship. The reason for this meeting was proposal applied to CIVL/FAI commission, to separate women’s and man’s World Championship. Whole attending girls where against. But we decided it would be good for female paragliding to run all women’s open in 2010. The purpose was to introduce more female pilots to the international paragliding scene, to motivate some fantastic cross-country politesses, who never have competed in non internet competitions to come and have a try, to see how it will be to compete without guys flying with us. Since then our dream started to have more realistic shapes. Anja immediately offered her help in organization. Caroll offer to bee a contact person with Italians. After I got back home I got in touch with several girls and so we are the organization team: Anja Kroll, Des Pensy, Caroll Lichini, Karolina Kociecka, Nicky Moss and me.
We already have put a lot of afford to run great competition. Even there where several big problems we met on our way, we decided to not gave up and looked with hope for bather to come. For now we decided for a date which is not affecting any mayor events next year - Continental Championship, World Cup’s and pre Worlds. It is 21.08-28.08.2010. As I said due to several problems we haven’t set the place yet but we consider between Ager, Feltre and Fiesch right now. Whole of this places are fantastic flying sites with great people, who is very motivated to help us. Decision is very hard but we plan to come to it till end of November.
What we plan?
We plan to have best possible organization level. We wont you to feel good with us.
We search for place with a lot of good weather and task possibilities, so you have chance for interesting races.
We plan to held evening meetings with pre-chosen topics of your interests.
We plan to have fun and fly a lot!
Way you should come?
Because it’s first time in history you have chance to compet only amongst the womens.
For pilots who competes it’s unique opportunity to try them self with only girls flying around. No more following the guy’s, you are the one to decide when to go, where to go. It’s big challenge for you, because you need to switch to new tactic. Try your self and show you aren’t only good in following but you are really the best female pilot! Are you accepting the challenge?!
For XC-girls who fly in internet competition is a opportunity to try something new and have a look if you can fly the same good on pre-selected rotes.
For girls who fly but never competed before – come and have a try, maybe you will get attracted with competition atmosphere and will want to go for more.
Competition side is active now. We haven’t chosen the place yet so there isn’t much to read yet, but you can register to the forum and have a chat with other international female pilots about interesting for you topics. Top topic on forum is now safety and Woman’s World Championship as a separated event. We will forward this conversation to CIVL/FAI comity so put up you voce other wise they decide for us!

In September new PG and HG sub-commission off Polish Aeroclub was chosen. It was decided to involve me in to this, so now I become a little like politician. We have been working on many new documents and tried to fix a lot of stuff. It’s fun to bee involved in making changes for wealth of paragliding. There is a lot to do about it. I hope our work brings something good and it will work well now.
It was decided as well to chose me as new National Team Trainer. It is very responsible role but enlist I can do much more for my team now.

After night drive from Bayramuren to Istanbul, whole day side seeing and another night driver to Sopot and repacking to the care and other day and partly night driving to Kopaonik in Serbia we reached our destination at 2:30. I was in shock. I didn’t know if I lost the way and some how landed somewhere in French mountains or I’m having hallucinations due to lack of sleep. It was different Serbia then I knew. Everything clean and new. Every house in similar style with white walls and dark wooden elements. So beautiful! We climbed with car up to around 2000 m. It was cold outside and quiet. Event organization team waited us in HQ. They offered cold beer and brought us to our accommodation. We got fantastic rum with small kitchen. Whole included in entry fee. I couldn’t believe!
Next day we went to the take off which was big but quaint flat mellow. Wind in my opinion was too strong but task comity decided to set the task. Finely it was decided one of more experienced pilots try to fly and see the conditions. He landed and said it’s not good so with consultations with us foreign pilots it was decided to cancel the task. On other day we visited other take off. During the event we have flown 3, out of 5 possible, valid tasks. The atmosphere was fantastic. Very nice people and great organization. They shown that with good spirit and cooperation between clubs everything is possible even it pour country like Serbia. Place of competitions remind me our Beskid mountains in Poland. It’s tricky and it’s hard to fly long tasks. But the surrounding is so beautiful.
On one evening organisation arranged transportation to Ravca for concert of Balkanika, it was just great fun! So many people and good musik.
Kopaonik is bid ski resort where many national teams (basket boll, valley boll…) comes for training. Clean and piece full mountains. Great destination for holidays and relax flying. And local people with great spirit. Guys don’t lose it!

During 5 day’s we hale flown 5 tasks, however I think the last one wasn’t necessary. Wind was very strong and with this valley I didn’t want to experience landing on the bottom, so I decided to not fly. But one after another.
As I wrote before Byramoren lies on the bottom of big valley. The landscape looks to me peaty raw. Local pilots do done a good job by creating good take off’s: one to south one to north, what aloud to fly with most of winds here. During the week we where taking of from bought of them and flying away of the valley on the flats in to south. I must admit it was very strange to me to fly like this. Imagine you have flat land with small hills what lies peaty high and valley which looks more like huge long hole in the ground created by the power of river. Most of time we where taking off on the same altitude as landed and some times we where landing even higher. For me flying there is tricky and it takes some time to understand hoe it works there. A spatially cause on afternoon see breeze, which is very strong, crashes in to the area and blows whole thermals away. It can blow you in to the big flat mountains in to the south as well and than you have long walk in front of you to get back to the civilization. SO during the flying you not only thin how to winn but what happen if you risk too much and need to walk for a day.
During the comp most of pilots if go to land they chose to do it on the flats on south side above the valley. It meant to be on prery and looked like long walk but retrieve guys where very kind to pick us up in every hole we landed so even if it took long time to get back home they never left anyone in fields.
Flying in Bayramoren was strong experience with very narrow and strong thermals in the valley and smooth thermals in the flats. The problem if we where on south take off was see breeze coming every day and if you waited too long no chance to take off. On second task this breeze was very early and strong and several pilots got no time any more to take off. But it was only they fault because first 30 min of open window no one took off. I could feel how strong is the breeze even high above the take off when I was taking turn point up there. Thermal was very strong, typical for lee side thermals. I just wanted to escape from there.
As I said the last task wasn’t necessary but it was flown. Wind was very strong on the taka off. Still flyable but to me not taskable. Luckly nothing happen to any one. Only one French pilot (very experienced one) got little adventure on that day landing in the little canyon on side of the valley and walked long time thru the bushes. He said he felt like Indiana Jones.
I think to fly in this place you need exactly know what you are doing. It’s difficult place to fly and it can be interesting to see how PWC pilots handle this conditions.
Potential of this place was shown by 2 pilots who have flown over 200 km on training day. It was: Slavomir Matras and Yassen Savov. They break the record of the place and win some money too.
As a Team Poland we took with Janusz Guzowski, Bartosz Moszczynski, Slavomir Matras and me first place.

After Polish Open we took nigh bus to Istanbul. It was fun bus because with us went SA team and as you probably know you can’t be bored if there are SA with you. So there we where driving to Turkey.
Crossing the border was very stress fool as Polish we needed Visa and guy who is selling them treaded us very badly. Enlist guys from costumers where nice and even advice us some spots for flying.
In Istanbul we separated off SA, because they went straight to Bayramoren and we went so make some said seeing. We stay there for 2 days to get the official bus, free of charge, to Bayramoren the night after. Istanbul was big surprise for me. I always imagined it more oriental and there I felt like in any European cities just with mosque instead of churches and 5 times a day cols. It was interesting because you have feeling that firstly they are not exactly at one time, so you get cacophony and you have a feeling there is a sort of competition between the Adhan (men who is making the col). During two days we managed to see Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Spices market, Grand Bazar, Topkapı Palace, we eaten a fish on haven of Bosporus and we walked a lot around. It was a nice experience.
After night driving to north-east we wake up in totally different scenery. It looked like steps and it was freezing cold. I was worried I haven’t enough warm cots to be and fly here. After leaving some pilots in hotel we went to Bayramoren. Before coming here I imagined that it will be a long rig with big flats in front. Nothing like this. It was a hole in de ground. A long huge terrifying canyon. But I was too tiered to think about it so we went to sleep. On afternoon we got a news that there where 2 accident’s during the training day and so one girl feel on the take off and other during landing. When we observed pilots trying to land in the valley I was really worried about flying competition in here. But we decided to see on other day how it will be. In mane time we moved to hotel as in Bayramoren there was only dorm and I didn’t want to sleep with everybody in this big open space.
Hotel was great. Turkish 4 stars (so don’t imagine too big luxury) but in prize we pay for camping in some other places in Europe. It was Spa Hotel with thermal water (even at room), sauna and everything you wish in this wild scenery of steps.

First day.
Russian open just finished and we already start to work on Polish Open. Saturday was hard day for whole organization cause we needed to build everything up in the office and prepare for registration this evening.
After registration there was briefing for Polish Pilots.
Task 1
Everyday organization team have briefing in the HQ at 8:30 so I needed to be there as well. After long work in the office last night it was hard to stand up so early. After we got opening ceremony followed by mandatory safety briefing for everyone, after this we started transportation to the take off. I went up very late. Just on time for the briefing. Task for today 83 km. In rush prepared my stuff and was late on start cylinder. Cause of that I have flown almost whole the way alone but managed to get to goal to find out that I’m the first one between girls. So cool!
Task 2
Again so many things to do in the morning – we have party this evening in HQ.
Again late on take off. 83 km task in front of us. Late start but conditions are bather than on beginning of the day so I’m caching up first group on first turn point. I have only 8 km to Jasen who is leading, I know I need be care fool here and take some hight before to go to the valley, I landed here in 2005, so remember is tricky place, but there are no thermals so I decide to go with 2200 m. Looks good till I’m hitting the wall of sink and within 2 km lose whole altitude and after some search for lift land here. AGAIN!!!
Task 3
Morning look as everyday busy. I go to the take off and fly. 63 km task on the ridge. But today air is ruff. Strong narrow thermals and a lot of turbulence. I’m tiered and feel bad in this conditions. Finely I’m getting washed down and land over HQ. It’s so big disappointment.
On evening it turned out that our disabled pilot Rozen landed in the mountains. Our rescue team of 8 people went to carry hem out of there.
Task 4
Thanks god is raining! I’m so tiered! And rescue team with Rozen is still in the mountains and its 9:00. So it wouldn’t be possible to run a task today because we have no more rescue team here.
The task was cancelled.
Guys came back at 10:00, whole wet and tiered. They didn’t slip whole night.
On afternoon we organize lecture in the cinema. Jakub Poburka, who work’s in the mountain rescue, will teach us how to act with injured pilot, how to get ourselves and someone safely down from the tree and so on. Thank you Kuba for interesting lecture.
Task 5
The weather in the morning was good at all and it was looking like only crazy person could go for flying. Never the less we have been dragged to the take off and given the 47 km task. It was still looking unbelievable as the most of the valley was covered with clouds. But shortly after we took off the sky started to clear. I done my best to take off on time and fly first group. Finely! Only after 1 turn point they push more and I’m losing them. But in the middle of the task we met again because there was a lot of shade on the valley and they needed to fight to not land. On before last turn point before goal I decide to stay and get some more altitude wail Orlin and Vyparinas go foreword toward last turn point and goal. For me it’s creasy, there is only shade. I know this turn point and goal too good to risk so much. I landed there 50 m short of goal during PWC and it almost coast me 1 place. So no! No risk taking behaviors. I stay and thermal high enough to make the goal. But marina takes the risk and fly. And there is everywhere lift on the way. Too late to catch her, I’m getting the goal as 2 and fourth too high.
Task 6
Cancelled due to the rain
Competition finished
I think we done our best to organize top quality event. I hope everyone is happy and goes home with good memories.
For me the best job made task comity: Orlin Dymov, Stefan Vyparina and Krzysztof Ziolkowski. They made the best tasks for conditions and level of pilots competing here.
Important was that most of 148 competitors have chants to get the goal, to make the task not too easy but not to difficult just challenging enough. And they done good job. Thanks guys.
Spatial thanks as well for one Russian Team for giving me one of the best prices I ever got. Thanks guys!
