Today night was raining again. Now sky is full in clouds. I don’t think we will fly today but the organisater want make next breafing at 12. We will see what comes.

It was decided we go to the take off. We couldn’t understand what for. On the way it was raining. On the top of the hill we made pictures, observed storm coming to Manilla and we drived down again. Another relaxing day spent on reading. Jams, our house keeper, told us today there will be bad weather but probably becomes better at Thursday. So we expect 2 day’s without flying. Maybe we will go to some reservat. We will see. (^)  (F)

The forecast was for isolated thunderstorms and variable winds … another hard day for task setting. The winds on the balloon flight showed some NE-NW. A 57kms race task to Tamwoth City goal (in the middle of the Tamworth CTA !) was set via the special event airspace corridor. Most blue conditions and light climbs greeted the 150 pilots on course after the 14.30 start gate. A wall of Cu-Nimbs sat 150kms to the south all day long and kept pilots carefully watching the sky ahead. 13 pilots made goal and 15-20 were just short. Petra was in the top places again - she will now be leading the event after 3 tasks - a women on top!

It was a difficult day, again. When we got to the take off we couldn’t decide where to start. We thougth to wait for task setting and then go by car. We didn’t suspected that we will have only 30 min to window open. Fortunately we got 2 hours to speed section open so we still had some time for team breafing and preparation. First we decided to go to east take off but when we saw that there is not perfekt any more guys went up and should come back for me. I wasn’t ready yet and with open paraglider there wasn’t enought space in the car. Our friend from Sydney, Kacper, stays with me and we decided I will not wait for Robert to go up. I will take off here. It was a perfect decision. I glided to north take off and got strong thermal above it. When others fought in weak up winds in the west i was alone climbing fast. One hour we spended on waiting under the cloud and at 14:30 race started. On the end of the ridge was finished with nice strong thermals and we glided to Manilla where we fought low in croud of paragliders in weak up wind. Spectacular for people on the ground stress full for us. slowly and in weak conditions it took me 3 hours to make 40 km. I met Petra in the middle of the way. She went alone straight to 2nd turn point. I was thinking to go with her but I chose big group. As we saw on the end it was wrong. We landed together with many pilots. There were no thermals any more.
Unfortunately by tracs downloading Walter realised he made start celinder too fast so he will have only minimum distance for today. Not good for the team.

We wait now for overall. As I saw it doesn’t look so terrible as I thought on begining.

PS. They just put overal results. After 3 task I’m 3rd between womans and 31 overall.
I’m so hapy! Now I need relaxing and keep on going.

Luise Crandal showed us her movie about training bird’s to fly together with paragliders. It was interesting. Very personal movie as well. It’s still long way to fly thermals and cross country with birds. Gin told me it brougth many people in Denmark to do paragliding school.
