Words task 4

Again long task 84km. It was klasik task for Valle. First waiting on craezy thermal for start and than going to antena. After that we went to Monarka. This turn pont was with 2km celinder. After Monarka we went to the take off and after that “piramida”, this was end of speed sectin and after we go to goal. First part I was goin good after I stock on 3 kings and couldent cach first groups. We went with smal group. On the valley to Monarka we cach cloud line and after that was easy to get to there. On the way back everyone went on the left side of the valley and I folowed the cloud streed. I won a lot with that. Plato didnt work today and I lost a lot of altitude going against the wind to the take off. We met with my group again there. After this turn point I decided to go to Penion and after geting hight thete to piramida. Wen I got to klif behinde Penion Keiko and Anja were there. Anja went to creasy thermal and we stay together. Keiko got cravat on her wing and didn’t done nothing with that. Sudenly I hird nois and I sow her fowling down in spins and stols. She throw the rscue above the trees and felt in betwen them. I thermaled for long time above her to be shour she is ok. Wenn I sow her moving I continued the flight to piramida and goal.

Words task 3

They test our fisical condition. Today we go again over 90km. task, with no clouds during almost hole day. Cloud base on begining of the day was aroun 2800, with valley on 1800 it isn’t much abouth the groung. We have flown first 11km to the west and after start celinder and normal celinder to the south to the mountains on other side of the valley. After that we went back to north 5 km futher than yesterday goal and back to south, almost the seam way for next 24 km. After that was the seam goal as yesterday. Aftereasy begining till 1 turn point hard work begun. To cross the valley to 2 turn point requested patience. On turn point I made mistake and ofter celinder I turned back to the next turn point. I shoulded go further to the suny side of the hill. In betwen valley we crossed befor stoped to work and i stuck for a hoer looking people passin above my hed. Fineley I cached nice climb and was back in game. When I got back to the take off clouds started to for on the way to 3 turn point. Now it was easy to finish the task. Convergency line on 3300 alowed to fo faster. After 5 hoer of flying I wos finely in goal. It’s so nice feeling!

Biora nas na wytrzymalosc. Dzis znow ponad 90 km i to bezchmurnej termiki. Podstawy na poczatku dnia nie wyzej 2800, a przy tym ze dolina jest na 1800 to malo. Dzis lecielismy najpier 11 km na wschod i po 3 km cylindrze startowym na poludnie. Nastepnie 30 km na polnoc, kawalek za wczorajsza mete i z powrotem 25 km na poludnie. Do pierwszego punktu wszystko szlo glatko. Pozniej porwana termika na cylindrze i walka o przetrwanie (lataja tu jak podziobani, nie da sie krecic z nimi kominow bo strach o zycie). Pozniej trudny dolot do punktu 2. Po drodze ciagle trzeba bylo potkrecac. Na punkcie zrobilam blad i zamiast polecic na gorki za nim odwrocilam do nastepnego puktu. Dolina w miedzyczasie przestale dzialac i zawislam tam na godzine czekajac az znowu zacznie pracowac. Powrot w rejon startu byl wyczerpujacy. Po wykreceniu sie na starcie poszlo juz glatko. Linia konwergencji na 3300 i tak az do mety. Coz za ulga znalezc sie po 5 godzinnym locie na mecie!

Words task 2

It was decided for 91 km task. After 6 km start celinder around take off, we where supposed to fly to the outh to other side of the valley. After that we went along the redg to the east and after crossin one more valley we got next turn point. After that we needed to go to antena, turn point we know from yesterday and after that to the goal in the flats north of take off.
The task was tricky and interesting. There where many ways to fly it. I went more than las stright fron thurn point to turn point. On the way from 2 to 3 turn point one of options was to cross big valley. Most of pillots chose this way and many of tham stay in ther. I managed to go till the Penion and only there i lost so much of hight that I sktached with harnes on the trees down the hill to get up. I was lucky and soon strong thermal put me under the cloud base. Way to antenas was pis on cake. With strong thermals and high cloud base. Crossing of plato wasn’t easy today. There was no usual convergency line. I went back to 3 kings and cross plato from there. Unfortunetley after chosing good line I made mistake on the end and landed 5 km short of goal. That’s pain fool to land anfter so hard day on the easiest part. But tommoror is an other day.

Dzis rozlozono 91 km konkurencje. Po 6 km cylindrze startowym wokol startowiska mielismy leciec na poludnie, na druga strone doliny, pozniej wzdluz grani na wschod gdzie po przeskoczeniu kolejnej doliny byl nastepny punkt zwrotny i powrot na polnoc do znanej juz nam anteny. To byl ostatni punkt zwrotny. Po nim zostalo juz tylko doleciec do mety na rowninach. Konkurencja okazala sie bardzo ciekawa i trdudna zarazem. Bylo wiele mozliwych drog jej oblecenia. Ja lecialam mniej wiecej po prostej od punktu do punktu. Na przeskoku z 2 na 3 punk do przelecenia byla wielka dolina. Wiele osob tam wtopilo, ja przelecialam ja dosc wysoko, ale stracilam wiekszosc wysokosci po drodze i w koncu musialam jezdzic uprzeza po kszakach i w koncu wykrecilam sie na Penionie i bylam znowu w grze. Do anten dolecialam gladko i z powrotem do 3 kroli. Przeskok nad plato tez byl glatki i wtedy skopalam: zucilam sie za bardzo do przodu i wtopilam i bylo pozamiatane. Wylondowalam 6 km przed meta.

Valle del bravo - final preparationa and first days of the Worlds

22.01
Today we went again to the take off. We decided to make trening task to the oposite side of the valley in front of the take off. Unfortunetley wind was stronger then we prediked and was waery tubulent over “G-spot”. We went around it but today it wasn’t good decision. We felt wary low and soon I was alone. I went back to the take off and over flats home.

Dzis znow pojechalismy na startowisko. Zaplanowlismy trase na druga strone doliny. Niestety wiatr byl duzo silniejszy niz przewidywalismy i bylo bardzo turbulentnie. “G-spot” pokazal skad ta nazwa, mnie porzadnie wyskladal, a kolejne 3 glajty posadzil na zapasach w drzewa. Postanowilismy go obleciec na okolo. Nie byl to jednak dobry pomysl, bo splukalo nas do parteru i wkrotce zostalam sama. Udalo mi sie wykrecic i po powrocie na start wrocilam dolainami do Valle. Stoimy sobie na londosisku a tu Ewa na paczce londuje w wodzie. Robila trening bezpieczenstwa i cos nie wyszlo. Co za dzien!

Today I made break of flying. It was a technikal day. I needed to check my glider and prepair for the comp.

Dzis zrobilam przerwe w lataniu. Musialam zrobic przeglad glajta i przygotowac sie do zawodow.

24.01
Today I planet not to fly, but we made chack off my glider last night and I needed to look if everything is ok. I made just short flight to the Valle over the flats on back of take off.
At eavening we got opening ceremony. At first pareid thru the town and after teams presentation and offitial part. After tis there was dener.

Dzis nie planowalam latac. Jednak po wczorajszym przegladzie skrzydla musialam sprawdzic czy wszystko gra. Zrobilam krutki lot ze startu do Valle.

Wieczorem mielismy oficjalne otwarcie zawodow z parada przez miasto, prezentacja teamow, zakonczone uroczysta kolacja.

25.01
Today was first task of Worlds. It was my turn to go for tem leaders briefing, so at 8 oclock I was already in meting rum. At 9 we went to the take off. It was waery craisy morning for me cause teamleader breafing finished 10 min before departure of shadels. On the take off were many spectators. We prepared for the flight and just after the breafing I took off. As top 3 woman FAI ranking I could go on the take off wen I wanted. It’s waery comfortable cause I coul chose best conditions for me. Task for today was tipikal task of Valle del Bravo. Start celinder was with radious 2km 3km away off take off. After start celinder we went to “antena” - turn point 18 km to the west from the take off. After that we went to turn point to the south of antena in to the flats, after that we got one more turn pont direction Monarka, last turn point was on eadge of plato and goal 400 m around take off above lake of Valle del Bravo - El Torre. Just after the start I wasn’t lucky. I felt out off the termal and lost hole altitude. After crossing the valley I was waery low. But I decided to be patient and win altitude bofore going on. Under the clud base was easy, I just pushed foreward and soon I cached up goups in front. In the flats I managed to finde a thermal line and didn’t lost much on transition. Over the turn point we found good strong thermal and soon we where on the cloud base again. Going back was easy. Just over the take off area I feld low but I found strong thermal and was back in game. To the before last turn point I went alone. On the way to the last turn point I did stack a litle and some pilots overtook me. Over last turn point I was low again but I sow one Niviuk going fast up and joined hem in the thermal. Soon we were high anought to go for the final glide. I think I was 5 woman today. It’s not so bad. Tomorow a other way.

Dzis pierwszy dzien zawodow. Rano na 8 musialam isc na team leader briefing. Codziennie sie sie zmieniamy a dzis byla moja kolej. Trwalo to do 9. Musialam niezle sie nabiegac zeby zdazyc na wywozke, ktorej ostatnie auto odjezdzalo o 9:15.
Dzisiejsza konkurencja to standard Valle del Bravo: po startowym cylindzrze kolo Penionu lecielismy do anten ok 10 km na zachod, a potem na poludnie na druga strone doliny. Nastepnie powrot do za start do sasiedniej doliny i znow na poludnie nad plato i meta nad jeziorem w Valle. Po kiepskim starcie sporo nadgonilam po trasie. Mialam jeszcze male zatrzymanie po drodzie tuz przed meta i w efekcie bylam 80 w generalce i 5 kobieta. Ogolnie jestem zadowolona, to byl dobry poczatek.

Valle del Bravo - first days, first flights

I arrived lait in the night and was too tierd to go to the take off in the morning. But I was convinced to go on afternun. On the end it was bad decision cause we stock in the rain and needed to walk dow to the main rout. We got back home layt, wen was already dark, totaly wet and exausted. I thought in Valle del Bravo never rains!?

Przyjechalam puzno w nocy i nie bardzo mialam ochote rano jechac na startowisko. Zostalam jednak do tego przekonana po poludniu i pojachalismy na gore. Byla to kipska decyzja bo nie polatalismy tylko utknelismy w deszczu i musielismy schodzic glownej drogi na piechote. Wrocilismy na kwatery poznym wieczorem, totalnie przemoczeni i wykonczeni. Podobno w Valle nigdy nie pada?!

At 10 oclock we go up to the take off. With Slovaks we seat a task and go to fly. Day is vaery soft as for lokal conditions. It’s good after so long brak to get use again to the glider and learn the place. After nice day in the air we land on ofitial launding on the lake.

O 10 wyjazd na gore. Rozkladamy sobie ze Slovakami treningowega konkurencje i lecimy. Dzien jest bardzo lagodny. Swietny na rozlatanie sie po przerwie. Normalnie jest tu podobno dosc mocno i turbulentnie. Po milym dniu spedzonym na lataniu ladujemy na oficjalnym ladowisku przy jeziorze.

18 - 19.01.09
Every day the saim schema: taxi 10 oklock and we go up to the take off. Fly diferent rutes and come back to Valle landing. Everyday is stronger and stronger but still aseptable. I realy enjoy the place.

Codziennie to samo: 10 wyjazd na gore i latanie po roznych trasach i powrot na londowisko nad jeziorem. Codziennie warunki sa coraz silniejsze, ale wciaz lotne. Musze powiedziec, ze bardzo mi sie tu podoba.

The rest of the Polish Team is here. They decide to go for tipikal task and we with Slovakians go to Monarka to see butherflies. After launding on fut of the mountain we ask one lokal to bring us to the reservat. We go up. Unfortuneltey day got cold and sun hidet behinde the clouds. Hole butherflies went to slip so we couldent see tham hole flying. Pity.

Dojechala reszta teamu. Zdecydowali obleciec klasyczn atrase i wrucic do Valle. My ze Slovakami polecielismy do Monarki obejzec motyle. Po londowaniu u podnurza gory, przekonalismy lokalsa zeby nas zabral do rezerwatu. Po wedrowce w gory przez las okazalo sie ze pogoda na tyle sie ochlodzila, ze motyle poszly spac. Nie moglismy podziwiac ich w pelnej okazalosci. Szkoda.

Today there was strong wind take off area. I decided to go stright to the Valle. It was’t easy but I managed to get to the ofitial landing.

Dzis mocno wialo. Postanowilam po starcie poleciec prosto do Valle. Nie bylo to latwe ale sie udalo doleciec na oficjalne ladowisko.

23.01 - 06.02.2009 in Valle de Bravo World Paragliding Championship will be held. I go there already on 15. so I can train and learn therein good.
