Polish Open

First day.
Russian open just finished and we already start to work on Polish Open. Saturday was hard day for whole organization cause we needed to build everything up in the office and prepare for registration this evening.
After registration there was briefing for Polish Pilots.

Task 1
Everyday organization team have briefing in the HQ at 8:30 so I needed to be there as well. After long work in the office last night it was hard to stand up so early. After we got opening ceremony followed by mandatory safety briefing for everyone, after this we started transportation to the take off. I went up very late. Just on time for the briefing. Task for today 83 km. In rush prepared my stuff and was late on start cylinder. Cause of that I have flown almost whole the way alone but managed to get to goal to find out that I’m the first one between girls. So cool!

Task 2
Again so many things to do in the morning – we have party this evening in HQ.
Again late on take off. 83 km task in front of us. Late start but conditions are bather than on beginning of the day so I’m caching up first group on first turn point. I have only 8 km to Jasen who is leading, I know I need be care fool here and take some hight before to go to the valley, I landed here in 2005, so remember is tricky place, but there are no thermals so I decide to go with 2200 m. Looks good till I’m hitting the wall of sink and within 2 km lose whole altitude and after some search for lift land here. AGAIN!!!

Task 3
Morning look as everyday busy. I go to the take off and fly. 63 km task on the ridge. But today air is ruff. Strong narrow thermals and a lot of turbulence. I’m tiered and feel bad in this conditions. Finely I’m getting washed down and land over HQ. It’s so big disappointment.

On evening it turned out that our disabled pilot Rozen landed in the mountains. Our rescue team of 8 people went to carry hem out of there.

Task 4
Thanks god is raining! I’m so tiered! And rescue team with Rozen is still in the mountains and its 9:00. So it wouldn’t be possible to run a task today because we have no more rescue team here.
The task was cancelled.
Guys came back at 10:00, whole wet and tiered. They didn’t slip whole night.

On afternoon we organize lecture in the cinema. Jakub Poburka, who work’s in the mountain rescue, will teach us how to act with injured pilot, how to get ourselves and someone safely down from the tree and so on. Thank you Kuba for interesting lecture.

Task 5
The weather in the morning was good at all and it was looking like only crazy person could go for flying. Never the less we have been dragged to the take off and given the 47 km task. It was still looking unbelievable as the most of the valley was covered with clouds. But shortly after we took off the sky started to clear. I done my best to take off on time and fly first group. Finely! Only after 1 turn point they push more and I’m losing them. But in the middle of the task we met again because there was a lot of shade on the valley and they needed to fight to not land. On before last turn point before goal I decide to stay and get some more altitude wail Orlin and Vyparinas go foreword toward last turn point and goal. For me it’s creasy, there is only shade. I know this turn point and goal too good to risk so much. I landed there 50 m short of goal during PWC and it almost coast me 1 place. So no! No risk taking behaviors. I stay and thermal high enough to make the goal. But marina takes the risk and fly. And there is everywhere lift on the way. Too late to catch her, I’m getting the goal as 2 and fourth too high.

Task 6
Cancelled due to the rain

Competition finished
I think we done our best to organize top quality event. I hope everyone is happy and goes home with good memories.
For me the best job made task comity: Orlin Dymov, Stefan Vyparina and Krzysztof Ziolkowski. They made the best tasks for conditions and level of pilots competing here.
Important was that most of 148 competitors have chants to get the goal, to make the task not too easy but not to difficult just challenging enough. And they done good job. Thanks guys.

Spatial thanks as well for one Russian Team for giving me one of the best prices I ever got. Thanks guys!
