There is nothing bather then spontaneously go to fly in Italy. After I finely managed to finish my studies with average note of 4 I got a phone call from my hang gliding colleague from Ludz, by the way our national team pilot, that the weather in Italy is improving for next days and he was asking if I want to go to Levico to fly. Looking outside where was only rain I couldn’t believe so checked 100 weather services and in did there will be small good weather window for 4-5 days. So not thinking too long I packed my camping stuff and very next day I was in train to Ludz. After day and partly night of driving we where on place. Next day we wake up in sun. Wow! SUN! Finely! We went to fly. On take off we quickly realised we weren’t the only one having this idea. There where so many pilots that I thought at first that there is some Italian league. In the sky conditions where pretty ruff but we where flying. It was so nice after 7 month of break to be in the air again. Next day was, according to PWC meteorologist, THE DAY of spring. We where very motivated to fly to Dolada and back. Unfortunately following local specialist, who have flown over 200 km some days before, we took off a little too early and got very weak conditions ended up struggling the hills in strange broken thermals when other pilots waiting a little longer flown in stratosphere over our heads. In the valley become to be very windy and although I got theoretically enough height to get to the landing field with normal conditions I stuck and landed 1 km short.
Next day I concentrated on thermalling and just enjoying feeling of being in the air. Finely I made 3 flights and the last one finished with so strong “magic valley” effect I have never experienced before. Not only wasn’t possible to land but I got strongest climbs of a day – 5,5 m/s and partly very turbulent air. I wouldn’t say it was a nice evening flying. It was hard job to kip my wing over my head. Still it is good training.
Next day forecast was stormy. Pilots who took of in the morning where shouted up and down and you could see it is very instable and turbulent in the air. I decided after so long break I need positive experiences and decided to stay on the ground. Shortly after clouds started to develop very fast, but on the end there was no rain. This very big clouds disappeared. Still it is bather to be on the ground then sucked in to the Cb cloud.
At evening we went back home as next day was rain foretasted. We have driven hole way back home in rain. When passing by Abtenau we have seen this grey sky and was so sorry for our guys sitting there in the rain wail we where flying.
If you wander what I was doing in Italy and way I’m not on Europeans there is the answer. This year I needed to work and I got no chants to fly for whole winter. After that I needed to finalize my studies as it was getting to long so I concentrated only on that. As I wasn’t flying for 7 month I decided to gave my place to Kasia, my team made, as she was hard on training since march, having good wing which made her feel confident and Abtenau is her therein – strong climbs, fast flying on rocky mountains. I have felt it will be good decision for Polish Team as she is able to win the podium. I hope she won’t fell.

A short trip to London made possible to meet with Dagmara Minkiewicz, a yang and very motivated journalist, photographer, alpinist and paragliding pilot living in London. We have used this opportunity for a interview for “Express Polska” (a polish newspaper in London) about womens in paragliding sport and Womens PG Open which will be held in Ager end of summer 2010.
Full interview in electronic edition of the newspaper.

For some of you new flying season already begun for me winter season just finished. I was working a lot. On one side I love my job – to be with interesting people, teach them how to ski, being in fresh air and enjoy the nature – on other side it is hard job and often I come back home and just crash in to bead to stand up next day and work whole day again. But having a day off is bad for me too. Last time I got one I have hurt my knee. We went powder and I stuck in under-snow track of other skier and twisted my knee. I was afraid I ripped my cross ligaments but luckly nothing bad happen. Since then I have had a lot of pain and need to have rehabilitation and my knee is still swollen.
Soelden is great place with lots of sun, this year not so lots of snow but bather than other places and lots of good flying days during winter. In February and March I have seen guys climbing up to 4000 and only could luck on them wail working. I didn’t manage to get in to the air since fall. I’m not very happy with this but can’t do nothing about this.
This week there is Polish Open Championship in Levico - Iataly. I was very motivated to go but I miss my bus to airport and stuck in London. I decided not to go to Levico any more as the weather forecast is very bad for whole week and I need finely to finish my studies before going for Europeans. So there I am sitting at home, checking Levico web-cams every 2 hoers and preparing my diploma for the final exam. I can’t wait this whole is behind me, to get in to my car and go somewhere to fly.
In breaks I try to prepare my season calendar so it will be updated very soon.
